Top 3 Ways to See More Birds In Your Home Garden

If you are a homeowner that loves to see wildlife in your yard, there are several ways to attract different native animals. I personally like to see native birds and see how many different species I can get to my backyard. The best way to get birds to your garden is by feeding them. Here are some ideas to help you get started feeding wild birds.
1. Learn what birds are normally seen in your area. Different birds come at different times of the year. Some birds are in your area year round.
2. Find a place to install your bird feeder: on a hook, in a tree, or on a pole. It needs to be an easy place for the birds to get to, but also easy for you to get to to clean and refill.
3. Choose the right feeder for the birds you want to attract. You may want more than one.
A. Large seeds are best used in a tube feeder with large holes or a hopper feeder.
B. Finches love small holed tube feeders as well as a Finch Sock Feeder.
C. A wire mesh feeder for woodpeckers.
D. Suet baskets are great for all wild birds that prefer a high fat diet, such as Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, Chickadees, Jays and others.
E. Hummingbird feeders.
Cardinals, thrushes and others, prefer to eat off the ground or from a platform feeder. They often prefer to feed close to brush or trees for safety. Finches will come to your feeder no matter where it is located.
Once you set up your feeder be patient. It may take the birds a day or two to find it. If they don't come after a few days you may have to relocate it.
